INTRODUCTION
In today’s advanced and technology-driven era, work has shifted from physical offices to online platforms, allowing for time and cost savings along with the convenience of working in preferred environments and at available times. Modern education too has seen a shift with most institutions now offering online education. The online provision of degree programs in Sharia sciences, in particular, was an urgent necessity. To address this need, the Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences has been established in accordance with the modern curriculum of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan.
The Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences will provide video lectures of all teaching materials, recorded by subject matter experts. The certificates issued by the Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences will be accredited by Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan and approved by HEC (Higher Education Commission). Although the curriculum of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan aligns with modern requirements, experts to teach this curriculum are not always available everywhere. However, through the Virtual Islamic platform, expert teachers with teaching experience, many of whom hold degrees from universities in Arab countries and have expertise in Arabic language instruction, are available.
The Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences is an institution dedicated to illuminating the lamp of knowledge in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah using modern methods. The institute is actively engaged in providing Muslims around the world—brothers, sisters, children, and elderly—with Islamic knowledge through modern technology. The Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences offers you the opportunity to explore the depths of religious sciences from the comfort of your own home through an online educational system. A team of dynamic and motivating teachers, along with skilled professionals in modern technology, is always ready to provide knowledge in a pleasant and preferred environment.
The curriculum of the Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences is based on fundamental Islamic sciences, including the translation of the Quran, Tafsir (exegesis), Hadith, the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and ethics and manners. Additionally, the curriculum pays close attention to important topics such as diversity of opinions, terrorism, the Khawarij (sectarians), and moderation.
The courses offered by the Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences help students delve deeply into the Quran and Hadith, aiding them in becoming well-rounded Islamic personalities. By presenting traditional Islamic sciences through modern educational technology in a new and engaging manner, the institute aims to guide students towards a bright future and enable them to play a positive role in societal development and religious propagation.
Join us in supporting the cause of religious education and help adorn yourself with the gem of Islamic knowledge by becoming a part of the Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences. Spread the word to your brothers, sisters, and friends to enrich their understanding with moderate and realistic religious education provided by the Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences.
The “Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences” will teach according to the curriculum of the “Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan,” which strengthens the connection to the original sources of Islam for a true understanding of the religion while also accommodating modern educational needs and objectives. This curriculum bridges the gap between the original sources of Islam and contemporary educational resources to a large extent. It includes, on one side, the Quran and its sciences, Hadith and its sciences, the life and virtues of the Prophet ﷺ, Fiqh and its sciences, Arabic language and literature, Sufism and ethics, and beliefs and ideologies. On the other side, it includes subjects such as English, Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Computer Science, Economics, Citizenship, Education, Political Science, History, Islam and Science, Comparative Religions, Middle Ages, and Dawah and Guidance as essential parts of various educational levels.
In the development and organization of the curriculum, the greatest emphasis has been placed on learning and understanding the Quran. It is a unique honor in the history of educational institutions that the entire Quran has been included as a compulsory textbook from “al-Shahadah al-Thaniyyah” to “al-Shahadah al-Alimiyyah” over eight years. Books of Hadith are included in this curriculum along with the study of authentic commentaries. To foster innovation, breadth of understanding, moderation, and patience in hearts and minds, subjects like Islam and Science, Comparative Religions, the Philosophy of Education and Learning, Islamic Thoughts and Theories, and Moderation (Moderation) have been included. Arabic and English language skills for conversation have also been introduced as subjects.
Curriculum development is a continuous, gradual, and evolutionary process that requires annual revision based on practical advice from students, teachers, and education experts. Thus, changes and updates to the prepared curriculum will not be disregarded. Suggestions and reforms from teachers will be welcomed with an open mind and broad-heartedness.
In preparing this curriculum, utmost effort has been made to select the best books from both ancient and modern sources for each subject. However, it is also a reality that teaching all important books of each subject simultaneously is a challenging task. Therefore, initially, the books that are currently in use and readily available have been included as textbooks, while the remaining books are included for supplementary reading and study. These additional books will be provided to each institution in the form of soft copies (PDF). Gradually, these books will also be included in the textbooks.
The curriculum under the “Virtual Institute of Islamic Sciences” has been organized in such a way that graduates, scholars, and students can highlight the importance and benefits of serving religion and humanity, as well as peace, tolerance, and moderation, in their practical lives. This will help revive the ethical values that are fading from society and ensure adherence to national laws and regulations. It is hoped that this comprehensive curriculum, aligned with contemporary demands, will foster collective organization, unity of the Ummah, and national and communal solidarity (Insha’Allah). May Allah accept this effort in His presence and make it a means for the intellectual, mental, and academic nourishment of future generations, as well as their moral and spiritual development.
